Sarah's rose
Death, O Death, Where is Thy Sting? Sarah's rose 2

Blessed O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
--1 Corinthians 15:55-57

Hymn tune by Susan Wysor

Born from the virgin Mary's womb,
In pow'r  Christ rose from death's dark tomb.
In weakness He was crucified.
Condemned for us, He bled and died.
refrain:
O death, O death, where is thy sting?
Defeated by our Lord and King!

Christ came to save His bride, the church.
All pow'r is His in heav'n and earth.
The Devil's works and evil pow'r
Were at the cross destroyed that hour!
refrain:
O death, O death, where is thy sting?
Defeated by our Lord and King!

The suff'ring Servant's blood was shed.
Christ Jesus bruised the serpent's head.
God's saints in Christ are washed and pure.
Satan is judged; death reigns no more!
refrain:
O death, O death, where is thy sting?
Defeated by our Lord and King!

Our God will wipe our tears away.
Remove the curse, sin and decay.

He'll judge the world, gentile and Jew
When He returns to make things new.
refrain:
O death, O death, where is thy sting?
Defeated by our Lord and King!

Christ rendered Satan powerless.
The Word made flesh has died for us.
Death's pow'r was vanquished on the tree.
O death, where is thy victory?
refrain:
O death, O death, where is thy sting?
Defeated by our Lord and King!
